Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides and performs skilled nursing services which include the collaborative participation in assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, nursing intervention, evaluation and reassessment. The LPN coordinates patient-centered care meeting both the psychological and physical needs of the patients and ensures optimal care and service in accordance with physician orders, The Joint Commission, nursing and departmental guidelines. The LPN provides for patient and family education and records pertinent observations of the patient's response to the medical and nursing interventions relative to the established plan of care. The Licensed Practical Nurse fulfills these duties to ensure continuity and quality of care which fosters the best interest and well being of all patients and their families
Education:
Graduate from a school of professional nursing with current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Mississippi State Board of Nursing or current licensure in one of the COMPAC states. Current BLS certification is required. If not current, BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Experience:
Requirements will include successful completion of orientation checklist and skills/credentials/competency requirements of specific unit.
Skills:
Requires ability to function in stressful situations. Verbal ability to present information and ideas related to nursing theory and practice. Ability to accept responsibility and accountability to perform delegated aspects of the nursing process. Requires the cognitive ability and practical ability to provide nursing care appropriate to the patient population assigned, considering patient age, growth and development, and diagnosis with full implementation of the nursing process to include Assessment/Reassessment, Nursing Diagnosis, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation.
Typical Physical Demands:
Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients and/or equipment, manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive period of time. May require lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. May require frequent bending, squatting and kneeling. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
